<p>Chris and Rebecca are two GP's from Aberdeenshire who are setting out to climb Africa's highest mountain in June 2012.&nbsp; In addition to undertaking the 9 day trek Rebecca will take on the demanding role of Team Doctor.&nbsp; This involves being responsible for the health and welfare of the 28 participants and the potentially serious medical problems that can arise at high altitude.</p> <p>To prepare for this demanding challenging we have a rigorous training schedule including running up to 20km a week, long weekend hikes and hill climbs as well as participating in Wilderness Medical Training.&nbsp; You can read about exploits on our website <a href="http://www.madaboutmunros.co.uk">madaboutmunros.co.uk</a></p> <p>We will be raising money for <a href="http://www.sensescotland.org.uk/">Sense Scotland</a>, a charity close to our hearts.&nbsp; Sense Scotland are the charity who care for Rebecca's big sister Ruth.&nbsp; Ruthie has Rubella syndrome due to her mum contracting German Measles when she was 8 weeks pregnant.&nbsp; Ruthie is deaf and blind with severe learning difficulties and challenging behaviour.&nbsp; Thanks to the wonderful care and support from Sense Scotland, especially the staff at Overbridge and Touchbase in Glasgow, Ruthie is able to live a full and happy life.&nbsp; Sense Scotland care for hundreds of other adults and children just like Ruthie.</p> <p>So please help us raise lots of money for this worthy cause and remember to Gift aid your donation.</p> <p>Thank you</p> <p><em>Chris and Rebecca</em></p> <p><em><br></em></p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
