Story

Chris and Rebecca are two GP's from Aberdeenshire who are setting out to climb Africa's highest mountain in June 2012. In addition to undertaking the 9 day trek Rebecca will take on the demanding role of Team Doctor. This involves being responsible for the health and welfare of the 28 participants and the potentially serious medical problems that can arise at high altitude.

To prepare for this demanding challenging we have a rigorous training schedule including running up to 20km a week, long weekend hikes and hill climbs as well as participating in Wilderness Medical Training. You can read about exploits on our website madaboutmunros.co.uk

We will be raising money for Sense Scotland, a charity close to our hearts. Sense Scotland are the charity who care for Rebecca's big sister Ruth. Ruthie has Rubella syndrome due to her mum contracting German Measles when she was 8 weeks pregnant. Ruthie is deaf and blind with severe learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. Thanks to the wonderful care and support from Sense Scotland, especially the staff at Overbridge and Touchbase in Glasgow, Ruthie is able to live a full and happy life. Sense Scotland care for hundreds of other adults and children just like Ruthie.

So please help us raise lots of money for this worthy cause and remember to Gift aid your donation.
