Story

Hi everybody! Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

For those who don't know me i am a Physio specialising in Neurological conditions, and i have decided to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis Trust by participating in a Group London to Paris Cycle ride in June 2009. I have supported Multiple Sclerosis charities since i worked as a CSV looking after a lady with MS on my year off prior to Uni and i also have treated numerous often very young people with MS in my Job.

This will be a huge personal challenge for me, not only because i  turned 40 in January and the joints are getting more and more creaky, but also because i've not previously been very good at the raising money bit. ( school friends may recall me doing 20 laps of central park in Plymouth in 1981 for no apparent reason as i hadn't actually filled out my sponsorship form!) Also as one of my friends pointed out i haven't actually got a bike! But this is because, in the words of a metropolitan police officer, after having two bikes stolen within a month in London, i have been a victim of crime, and not because i can't cycle. ( Those who know me will attest to my large cycling calves)

So please let me put my trusty calves to some good use because they don't fit into slinky boots and will be much more use to me pushing me uphill on a bike. And help raise some money for a worthwhile cause.

I understand that this is a difficult time financially for many at the moment but can i emphasise that if a lot of people give a little then i can reach my target. I need to raise £ 1000 by March 2nd, so i really need donations asap. So if you're stuck for a New Year's resolution- Here's a great one!

Please forward this address to all your friends and work colleagues to enable me to do this challenge. ( I will not be able to participate if i do not have the funds by the cut off) then i can continue to fund raise whilst preparing for the actual cycle.( yes i will be training!) I will be so grateful for any donation you can give.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: MS Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
