Rhinos may not be the cutest or cuddliest of creatures, but they are certainly in need of some loving care and attention. Rhino species around the world have been in steady decline due to poaching and habitat destruction over the last 35 years. All species are at risk, though the Javan Rhino is the most critical, with only around 60 known to be remaining.

Save the Rhino International has helped to stabilise the numbers of existing rhinos but most species are still classified as 'critically endangered' and face the real possibility of extinction.
