My story

The return of Kingfest this year, will for many bring back memories of a rather wet, boggy field in the middle of nowhere - we can't guarantee 2012 will be any different, but we can promise great music, dodgy dancing from the Kings and a new venue with panoramic views of the Welsh montains (if the fog and rain ever lift).

Kingfest 2012 is taking place over the weekend of 21/22 July.

Our suggested donation is £25 (but feel free to pay more if you can or less if you can't).

This year, all donations will be going to a fantastic project in Kenya that PK has been involved with. The Gilgil Trust works with street children and you can read more about their work here: #mce_temp_url#. We'll be raising the money through the John Henry Memorial Fund; JH himself was a Kingfest veteran of some standing and he visited the Street Children where this money will be being spent.

We've committed to cover all costs this year through funds raised by booze and food sales. As recommended by our financial team, we're going to keep Dom well away from the bar so there's a chance of this actually happening!

Tickets are limited to 200, and the only official way to get onto that list is to donate here. Please note that because this fund is separate from any Kingfest costs, you can add Gift Aid where applicable (ie this £25 is a gift, not officially a ticket...).

So, we''ll see you there!

The Kings (and Cheethams!) are Bronnie, Andy, PK, Rob, Rach, Lizzie and Dom

Charity Registration No. 1118007

For those of us lucky enough to have known him, John-Henry was a pretty remarkable chap with an enviable zest for life and a truly contented approach to everything he did. The fund was set up by his family and close friends to ensure that these qualities would continue to be celebrated and be a legacy to him.
