This year's KingFest runs over the weekend 11/12th July, and as usual takes place in a beautiful field in Herefordshire, with music, dancing, a big bonfire and lots of food. As before, profits from the weekend (£15+ per person) go to our preferred charity; though this year we're going to keep Dom well away from behind the bar so there's a chance of making something!
And in fact there's already been so much help that we're committing the total upfront charge to the charity, with running costs being raised by the bar and food sales. So thank you Ty for organising tents, Mum and Dad for donating the food, and everyone else involved.
The charity is HSK - a small organisation with an amazing record of building and equipping schools in a poor rural area of Kenya. PK has just returned from a 6 month fundraising cycle ride (see www.downrightkenya.org), while Rob has visited the charity's Kenyan headquarters several times and the rest of the family are drafted in to help at every opportunity. Rob is also a trustee of the John Henry Memorial Fund (see www.johnhenrymf.org) which has recently pledged a generous donation to HSK. John Henry had visited the charity and was a KingFest veteran of some standing!
Tickets are limited to 200, and the only official way to get onto that list is to donate here (but you can use one of us to do this for you if you are JG-averse)! And please note that because this fund is separate from any KingFest costs, you can add Gift Aid where applicable (ie this £15 is a gift, not officially a ticket...).
So, we''ll see you there!
The Kings (and Cheethams!) are Bronnie, Andy, PK, Rob, Rach, Lizzie and Dom
