This year was already a big one for the family, with Sarah turning 30 and Robert 60 so we wanted to mark it in a special way and how better than cycling for hours from London to Brighton when there is a perfectly good train line to take you there in a fifth of the time?!

However our challenge recently took on greater significance with Matt's recent spell in hospital and his forthcoming heart surgery. We all know the amazing work charities such as British Heart Foundation do, but its not until you experience the stress and pain of seeing a loved one suffer that you realise just how important their efforts really are.

So thats why, on Sunday 17th June, we'll be digging in especially hard - fighting the chaffing and the impossible task of Ditchling Beacon - to do Matt and others like him proud. Times are tough and even if you can only afford a few pence, it really does make a difference so please give what you can, come cheer us on from the sidelines and for gods sake have a cocktail ready for the finish line!
