Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. The challenge is here: http://www.snowdon500.co.uk/

I was chatting to my GP last autumn and suggested that he should check my prostate. In a jiffy he had his finger on the possible problem, and he then sent me off to see a consultant.

A PSA test indicated that all was not well, and that my body needed a good service. Subsequently I was scanned with massive machines looking at bones and wobbly parts - not a pretty sight!

Fortunately it looks like they've caught the naughty bits fairly early, and I was eligible for a procedure called brachytherapy. I'm now walking about radiating!

Girls! What's in it for you? Well, bearing in mind it's reckoned that over 50% of all men have prostate cancer at some stage or another, it could be your bloke!

So, the question you need to ask is - "Do I still love him?, or should I keep stum and let nature take its course?" It's a tough call!

But while you're trying to work that out, why not sling the charity £20 or whatever figure comes to mind. Who knows? You may get a healthier chap next time.

As for my presence here, what can one say? I do no exercise at all during the year, then suddenly I'm supposed to climb a flipping mountain for a good cause.

It makes no sense.

Still if I make it to the top and back, it probably means I'm recovering quite well.

And by the way, the doctors and nurses at Edinburgh's Western General were superb. Long live the NHS!!
