Managed to complete the Ironman in 13 hours 38 minutes. </span></span></span></span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: black; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: 11pt; color: black; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;"><span style="color: #ff0000;"><span style="color: #000000;">The swim went pretty well managed that in 1:30, the swim though was the only flat thing on the day, the bike course was very hilly and hard work, managed the 112 miles in 7 hours before putting my running shoes on to start the marathon...which was also pretty hilly! </span></span></span></span><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: black; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: 11pt; color: black; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;"><span style="color: #ff0000;"><span style="color: #000000;">Was hoping for a quicker time overall but after my belly started cramping up and I started feeling a bit umm lets just say ill 17 miles into the marathon I was pretty happy to finish!! </span></span></span></span><span style="color: #000000;"></span></p>

<span style="font-size: 10pt; color: black; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: 11pt; color: black; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial;"><span style="color: #ff0000;"><span style="color: #000000;">This summer I will be doing the </span>UK Ironman long distance triathlon</span> which takes place on the 31st July 2011.</span></span></p>
<p>
<p>The event consists of a <strong>2.4</strong> mile open water swim, a <strong>112</strong> mile bike ride and then a full marathon - <strong>26.2</strong> mile run. A total of <strong>140.6 </strong>miles in one go.</p>
</p>
<p>I'm doing this to raise money for a number of charities, I am raising money primarily for <span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong>Cancer Research UK.</strong></span> 50% of money raised will be going to <span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong>Cancer Research UK</strong>,</span> the other 50% will be going to other <strong>Rotary-Ironman UK Charities </strong>which include <strong>Children Hospice Associations</strong>, <strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; color: black; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;"><span style="font-size: 11pt; color: black; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">Leukaemia</span></span> Research Fund</strong>, <strong>Life Education Centres</strong>, <strong>Marie Curie Cancer Care</strong>, <strong><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB; mso-fareast-language: EN-GB; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">Macmillan Cancer Relief</span></strong>, <strong><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB; mso-fareast-language: EN-GB; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">CLIC Sargent</span> and other local causes</strong>.</p>
