We are the largest UK charity that supports people with dyslexia & their families, teachers & employers. We aim to change society by breaking through the barriers and enabling everyone with dyslexia to be acknowledged, accepted and empowered.

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: British Dyslexia Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Dyslexia Awareness - What does it mean to be dyslexic?

If you are dyslexic you will know,

if not, try to imagine what it would be like.

What are we trying to say to politicians?

1.     “Dyslexia affects at least 1 in 10 of the general population.  Four per cent of whomwill be severely affected by their dyslexia.”

2.     “People with dyslexia have huge talents and there are growing numbers of organisations making outstanding efforts by being positive about dyslexia.  It’s this positive side of dyslexia that we want to share during the Week.”

3.     “We cannot change the world on our own, we need partners – employers, agencies, schools and colleges, families.  To make the changes we believe are necessary to unlock the talents of all dyslexic children and adults we need more partnerships in action.”

4.     “Most of the actions needed to become dyslexia friendly – in work, in leisure, in education, in the family and the local community – bring benefits to everyone not just the individual with dyslexia.”

5.     “We all need, and benefit from, a truly dyslexia friendly society.  With at least 10% of the community affected directly by dyslexia, our elected Members of Parliament need to show leadership in dyslexia too.”
