It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months.
That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.
Story
Hi everyone,
Thanks for visiting my Just Giving page.
As you all know I love cycling and a challenge... some of you might also know that one of my closest family members has pancreatic cancer. So I thought I’d take the opportunity to raise some money for Pancreatic Cancer UK by taking on an epic cycling challenge! This August 2 – 16th I am riding from Lands End to John O’Groats with my friend Donna.
In 14 days I’ll be riding 1029 miles and climbing 69,774 ft – more than twice the height of Everest! As my knees and bum may never be the same again, please consider sponsoring my ride. All the proceeds are going to go to Pancreatic Cancer UK, an organization which funds research, provides information about and raises awareness of pancreatic cancer. The miles are also going to be added to Pancreatic Cancer UK’s ‘Bike to the Future’ campaign.
Please also take the time to read about the work of Pancreatic Cancer UK, and also about pancreatic cancer. Their site is really informative and has helped me a lot. Pancreatic cancer is one of the least researched cancers and also one of the most deadly. Of those diagnosed with the disease, 97% will not survive five years. The more funds charities like Pancreatic Cancer UK have, the greater the chances are of increasing the survival rates of sufferers.
Many thanks,
Kirstie :o)
