Kilimanjaro Trek · 14 September 2019

We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

Like all crazy ideas this one started in the pub, and now we find ourselves signed up to climb Kilimanjaro in September! Kili is the highest mountain in Africa, and at 5,895m is the tallest freestanding mountain on earth.

We're doing this for a really worthy cause - the NSPCC. We want to raise as much as possible to support their Speak Out Stay Safe programme, which helps protect children across the UK. The effects of child abuse can be devastating and in the average primary school class, at least 2 children have suffered abuse or neglect.

£15 could pay for the Speak out Stay safe programme to reach 5 primary school children every month

£25 could pay for 4 schools to have Buddy kits, an activity booklet children can take home to remind them how to stay 'happy and safe' and who to talk to if they have worries.

Training includes the 52km Peak District Challenge trek on 13th July. Our training has also taken us up Snowdon and the beautiful mountains of Bulgaria.

As our training continues we would love for you to help us raise much needed funds to support the NSPCC’s vital work. All contributions very gratefully received and as our trip is entirely self-funded the NSPCC will benefit from 100% of your donations.

Thank you! Kirsty & Victoria
