Story

You made it here! I am so thankful that you are even considering donating when there are many other worthwhile charities out there.

Here's the deal: I'm climbing a mountain. A big mountain. But it's not as big as facing cancer. And I know it. Too many people, very close to my heart have been taken by this awful disease and too many times I have had to witness their pain and suffering. The only thing that has brought me peace is the knowledge that they were able to spend their final days at home, surrounded by the people and things that brought them the most joy - and this was all because of the amazing support that Macmillan provided.

There are many special people out there, and Macmillan nurses are some of the most special; faced with such an ugly disease they provide grace and patience and enable dignity and respect, and for that reason I will be eternally grateful.

My trip to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro is completely self-funded, that means that everything you donate, big or small, goes straight to Macmillan. If you aren't in a position to donate, that's fine - maybe you can share my link, I'd love to bust through that 1,000 mark! If nothing else, I'd love for you to keep up with my progress by checking out my blog: http://kirstyclimbskili.blogspot.com/

The fine print: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

For my Dad, for Dave and for Linda; in my heart every step of the way.
