Story

Hello all.

In 2009 I will be running three marathons: on March 22nd I will be running the Tokyo Marathon, on April 26th I will be running the London Marathon, and on May 31st, the Edinburgh Marathon. I am running in memory of my dear sister in law, Sue Land.

Many of you met Sue at various do's and events and will know what an amazing, fiery, strong and beautiful woman she was. She fought cancer for over six years, but devastatingly, she died on Wednesday 16th of January, 2008.

This is my fundraising page for the Tokyo Marathon, which I am running in aid of The institute of Cancer Research. I am also hoping to raise some extra by running the Edinburgh marathon in May! The ICR has strong links to the Marsden, where Sue received treatment and care. I have chosen to run these marathons in the hope that you lot will honor my gross stupidity with donations large or small.

I am also running the London Marathon in aid of the Marsden: please visit my other page at www.justgiving.com/kirstyhousleyflm

So, the three marathons are just over a month apart so I have a fighting chance of recovering in time for each one. Tokyo in particular is very important to me: I was working in Tokyo when Sue died and will be returning for work in 2009, just over a year on. All your donations go straight to the Institute. I would be so grateful for whatever you can give.

Lots of love to all. x x x
