Some said it was unlikely. Others said that science had proven it impossible for the human body to move that much mass that far. Others were ambivalent. The facts of the matter are this: I am running a marathon.

I'm raising money for CAFOD who are an awesome overseas development charity (form whom I happen to work). You should give all of your money to them. Every penny counts / you donation makes a difference / you could change someone's life etc.

I'll let you know how it goes after Oxfordshire's fourth biggest annual sporting event on a road in the second half of October.

Whooooooooooooooooooooop!

Comparison stats:

- Tokyo Marathon runners: 30,000

- Tokyo Marathon applications: 255,000

- Tokyo Marathon supporters on the street: 1.5million

The Abingdon marathon has 1,100 runners. Assuming the ratios of Tokyo:Abingdon works (30,000:1,100) it is clear that there were 9,350 applications to Abingdon Mazza and there will be 69,666 supporters on the streets of Abingdon to support me. If you do want to come and support me I would get there early to avoid the rush.

Not as physically gruelling as growing a tache but a good effort, nonetheless. Well volunteered, Kit! Donation by Beth on 25/08/09
