Freddie does the Buttercup Walk!

Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital - Buttercup Walk · 24 June 2012 ·
Thank you for your incredibly generous donations. I completed the Buttercup Walk on Sunday 24th June in just 22 minutes! I'm really pleased with my achievement, especially considering the atrocious weather (see picture of a very damp me at the finish!).

As you most likely know, I've been treated by consultants, doctors and nurses at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore for the last decade and more. Every year, there is a fundraising event called the Buttercup Walk, held to raise money to improve patient care at the hospital. Obviously, this is a cause that is very close to my heart and I have participated in the walk once before, but I was much more mobile back then! This year I'm going to do it again, and I intend to do the full mile without crutches. It will be a big challenge for me as I have been using two crutches since September 2010!
