Story
So this is attempt 3. Fist no wind and last year torn ligamnets in my FEET.
My sister has now sadly passed away beaten on the 12 April 2012 by cancer so whatever happens this year I will complete this challenge in her memory!!
I was beaten by the weather last year but I'm back for another go. We're on standby for the right conditions from now on !! So fingers crossed for plenty of breeze to get this challenge done and raise lots of money for W4CR !!!
For anyone who doesn't know me I'm Ceri Knapgate a windsurfing instructor based in west Wales .In the past few months my sister has been diagnosed with breast cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. This has prompted me to raise money for the windsurfing for cancer research charity.
I plan to windsurf from Arklow on the east coast of Ireland to New Quay in west wales a Journey of around 100 miles across the Irish sea with just a support boat for company.
This route has never been done on a windsurf board so I have no idea how long it will take I'm guessing somewhere in the region of 10 hours.
Due to the nature of the task I will have to make the trip when the conditions are right so there is no definate date at the minute. I'm hoping to complete by the end of October 2010. I will keep you all updated via facebook and e mail.
Thank you for visiting my page and helping me raise money for cancer research.
