Frank Water Projects - Rickshaw Run Autumn 2011 · 10 September 2011 ·

Frank Water sets up sustainable, community-owned clean water projects in some of the poorest communities in India and Nepal. To date we've worked with 747 communities, providing access to safe, clean drinking water to over 513,229 people. Join us and be part of the solution.

Story

On 10 September 2011 three brave adventurers from Knightswill be embarking on one of the craziest adventures known to man - The Rickshaw Run.

Armed only with a 150cc tuk tuk, a helmet and a video camera our team will travel to Bangladesh where they will commence a 5000km journey to Jaisalmer which they must complete in two weeks.

There is no route, no accomodation and no mechanic to support them although luckily Gareth did a week long orienteering trip when he was 14 which they hope will be sufficient.

The aim of the adventure is to raise £5000 in aid of Frank Water who will use the money to construct a sustainable water treatment station within an Indian community which will provide safe drinking water for 7000 people for life.  In a world where 4000 children die every day due to a lack of clean drinking water, it is a small price to pay.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far and to everyone who is able to donate in some way.
