My story
So in a rare moment of machismo I agreed to join the Koozai team running the Great South Run. I say team, they will stop at nothing to beat each other. Whereas anyone that knows me will know I'm just out to enjoy the beautiful scenary of pompey...
When it came to a cause the Encephalitis Society picked itself. "Encephalitis is inflammation of the brain. The inflammation is caused either by an infection invading the brain; or through the immune system attacking the brain in error."
My little girl Grace contracted a rare form of Encephalitis (Anti-NMDAR Encephalitis) just after my 30th Birthday. It was horrifying, the worst year of my life as she spent 3 months in Southampton General and a further 4 months as an out patient receiving chemotherapy for this illness that left her needing neuro-physiotherapy, speech therapy and the afore mentioned chemotherapy.
Earlier this year the pulchritudinous Kate Wallace ran the Eastleigh 10k for the wonderful people from Southampton General so it's my turn to get blisters.
