Challenge Adventure Charities - The Alpine Challenge · 25 September 2009 ·

For 25 years, we have organised cycle events, mainly in Europe. We have raised a huge £4,378,361 mainly for cancer, heart and other medical research. We pride ourselves that EVERY PENNY that has been raised has been paid to charity - our participants paying the full fees for event entry themselves.

Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

We are back - challenge completed.  We had a great time - weather was fabulous and cycling even better!  Thank you to those who have already sponsored us ahead of the event - and thank you in anticipation of any further sponsorship!

The Alpine Challenge sets off at the end of September from Laon in north eastern France, covering 500 miles (in teams of 4), arriving in Annecy in the French Alps 3 days later.

The KPMG teams (with some “newbies” in our teams this year!) are donning our padded shorts again and will be back in the saddle on this challenge.  As ever, the route is beautiful and challenging, particularly on the last day when we skirt round the Swiss border through the Jura Mountains and down intoAnnecy.   We hope the weather will be better than for those doing the recce as they battled through low cloud and snow in some places!

We have decided to support The Alzheimer’s Society this year with our fundraising, in addition to the Macmillan Cancer Support and Cancer Research who are the chosen charities of the organisers.  The Alzheimer’s society will receive 50% of all funds raised, with the other 50% being split equally between Macmillan and Cancer Research.

We know that everyone receives sponsorship requests, so very much hope you are able to support us and these very worthwhile causes.  All money raised will go to the charities as we fund our own expenses, and no costs are taken by the organisers.

Thank you in anticipation!
