Story

David & Steve Lineker are competing in the Round Great Britain and Ireland two handed 2000 mile yacht race which starts from Plymouth on the 6th June 2010.   You are welcome to come and see them off!

Their aim is to raise money for Blind Week Sailing which is an annual event where up to 50 blind and visually impaired sailors take part sailing on yachts provided by owners around the south and west coasts of UK.   Blind Week sailing is  sponsored by both the RSYC and the RCYC and this year will start out from Falmouth.

Many of our blind sailors have lost their sight in later years while others have been visually impaired from birth .  It is so amazing for them to have this opportunity to do something  which we take for granted.

By making a donation you will be creating an opportunity for blind sailors to sail on ocean going yachts for a week where they fully participate in the sailing of a yacht from helming to galley slave!   Yes they peel potatoes and cook as well as navigating - amazing eh?

So please dig deep and donate now.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
