Hello!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page!

Yes, on the 26th April this year I really am going to run the London Marathon!  Having worked at the marathon last year I saw all shapes and sizes taking part in this awesome event which inspired me to sign up for my turn!  With my rigorous training schedule now in full swing I am hanging on to those threads of inspiration and trying not to be overwhelmed by the sheer size of the challenge ahead!

The experience so far has been mixed - as a non-runner, the training has been pretty prickly; painful joints, aching all over, a dodgy stomach and flagging social life! I was so embarrassed by how hard I was visibly finding it that I'd slow right down when other joggers were in sight and pretend I was out for a speedy walk!  A few weekends ago I completed the Brigthon half marathon to mark half way through my training schedule - managed to run in a really good time but the thought of doing double the distance is not filling me with joy right now!

However, the once monotonous, heavy and exhausting experience is now starting to feel way more natural and although I remain daunted by the challenge ahead I am growing keener for the final few weeks of the training schedule... Fingers crossed my recent tequila fuelled trip to Mexico hasn't done me too much damage, oops!

The biggest plus side of doing this is that I will be running for the Lord's Taverners Charity.  My target sum of £1500  will enable me to fund a multi-sports wheelchair for a young person with physical disabilites to enjoy their chosen sport.

I know you must get lots of requests to fund all kinds of good causes, as I do.  Nonetheless I would really appreciate any support that you can offer for this very worthwhile cause.  Your support will spur me on to the finsh line when my knees  and ratio of toes to toe-nails won't!

Thank you!
