Story

Who AM I?

Born and raised in New York City.  I'm an active person, who is constantly on the move literally and figuratively.  Always looking to help others and improve on my own well-being mentally, physically, and spiritually by connecting with others and sharing.  I have a passion for foundation work and have been extremly active volunteering over the past decade working with local grass root non-profits to more established ones.

The Background:

On August 3, 2018, I will be taking a challenge with another 99 people trekking the Arctic Circle in Kangerlussuaq, Greenland for 5 straight days to help bring awarness to water conservation and help fundraise for WaterAid Non-Profit Foundation.  I'm extremly excited to help with fundraising and taking on this challenge.  This challenge will be the first I've ever done before to help bring awarness for an amazing cause.

Why am I doing this?

Growing up in the United States, where the infrastructure for water accessibility, no less, palatable water consumption is possible is constantly taken for granted (e.g. watering grass during a drought or having a leaking faucet).   Countries that have such infrastructure in place are unaware of the difficulties other countries  and people face.

Drilling down to countries that do not have the infrastructure are its people, who struggle daily to survive (e.g. dependent on water drop offs, physically carrying water supplies, or uprooting families and migrating to other areas) in order to get access to clean water.

Being part of this expedition in August 2018 to walk 100km in the middle of nowhere in Greenland in 5 days (rain or shine with 24 hour day light in 30 degree nights and 50-60 degree days) back to civilization will provide a very small glimpse into the daily struggle some people face.

By no measure is my 5 day trek meant to eclipse the daily struggle people face to access clean water across the world.  The expedition is simply to bring awareness and funding to help support WaterAid in 1) helping countries and their people build local water infrastructure 2) shortening the journey and 3) brining a new improved norm to their lives in water accessibility.

Thank you for your consideration and support!
