GB Row 2013 · 1 June 2013

We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

I'm Amy L Wood, 18 years old and I am competing in the GB Row 2013 acknowldged to be 'the toughest rowing race in the world'.

I am part of a ladies crew of 6 along with Nicola Cheesman, Jill Lees, Hannah Hawkins, Jade Smith & Kerry Blewett

At Current standing, as a crew, we have high aspirations to beat the current women's world record of 51 days, 16 hours and 42 minutes. This journey will consist of 2010 miles, battling winds and fast tides; making this challenge a very great test of endurance and skill.

We're competing in this race in aid of Cancer Research, a charity which every person on this planet will be able to relate to. Cancer effects so many people, in may different ways. Without the research conducted by this very special charity, cancer would be winning its own battle but with your help and support, your donations will help change the world's cancer predicament, for good.
