Ladislav's Mission: Africa 2016

Mission: Africa 2016 · 21 February 2016
Hello world.
I am Ladislav Maluch, a second year student at Futureworks and a member of students team from Manchester Universities’ CatholicChaplaincy - MUSCC. I am taking part in a mission at St. Ignatius primary school in Dodoma, Central Tanzania, East Africa, for 4 weeks to volunteer with the local children. My aim is to set up a modern learning facility - a classroom with up to date computers, where the pupils can learn using technology, which is a natural thing in our western society. This will allow them to gain skills which they can use in future to help them with employment. Apart from that, I want to help them with their confidence, spiritual support and creative development using my experience and skills.
Our second aim as a team is to to record the local children choir and produce an album of songs that we can bring back to the UK and sell to raise money to help them out for further development and improvements. This will also include teaching the children about music production as music is the gold of the East African culture.
The process of organizing and fundraising for this trip is teaching us to live by faith. This has never been done by our chaplaincy before, and we think that working together towards this daring goal will unite us and that we can come back and inspire others.
Even a small donation can help to create huge difference.
It is easy to be famous when you also have the money, the social status, the opportunities, but there are plenty of talented children in the world, who will never get the spotlight. However, together we can help them out.
