Abigail Ministries provides hope and comfort to destitute families in Kenya by sponsoring children's education, teenage apprenticeships and college courses. It has also set up micro-businesses and workshops for group work for women. Abigail Ministries renovates homes to make them weatherproof and provides basic needs including beds, blankets, cooking facilities, lamps and food. See www.abigailministries.org.

My story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

After a year of no exercise, I am once again going to run the mighty distance of 5k for those beautiful children in Kenya. I recently returned from my second visit and the poverty impacted me just as much as the last time.

What struck me more this time was the potential some of these people have, intelligence, skills, ambition, and they just cannot use them. They are victims of their circumstances and for some, no matter how hard they try, there is no way out. So by donating money, we can give them the chances they don't have to fulfil the potential they do.
