Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Survival International will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Due to your overwhelming support I've already revised up my fundraising target.
26/3/04 Martin's M-S-E crew rocks! Thankx for getting me off to a flying start!
27/3/04 First training session today. Battled with the voice that says "QUIT NOW. YOU'VE DONE ENOUGH. NO SHAME IN GIVING UP".... and I won :-) I expect to pay for it in pain tomorrow.
28/3/04 Thanks to "Coach" Alan for the "anonymous" donation. 29/3/04 Bike's now ready to go back on the road. First ride tomorrow! Thanks for all the messages of support. 31/3/04 Thanks to Trafalgar for the "anonymous" donation 1/4/04 I kind of hope someone's designed a bike seat with built in suspension - so I can buy one today. But if not, I'll make a fortune designing one! 2/4/04 Happy birthday to me. I feel like a 25 year old (wink wink) Maybe I'll see one on my training ride today..... 3/4/04 Made training today - miracles can happen. Cheers to Nick and Hillary for the encouragement. 5/4/04 Too sore to train properly so a quick ride and stretches in Hyde Park in the pouring rain. Where's my masseur? 7/4/04 "All this talk of running and cycling but no swimming yet Lamin" I hear you cry! Don't worry folks, it's all in hand. 8/4/04 Is this a six-pack I see before me? Hah, I should be so lucky! 10/4/04 Big Saturday training session in the park. Beginning to realise just how much more I need to do to get through this thing. Yikes! 17/4/04 Still training. Lighter sessions this week. Going to have to step up the pace. Must go out and cheer everyone doing the London Marathon tomorrow. 1/6/04 New month. New resolve to keep the website up to date. Another gruelling training session with Alan and co. Thanks for all the encouragement. Expect another round of emails soon with info on how to contribute on or off line. 5/6/04 Thanks to Kathy-Ann for the generous support and encouragement (it's the price to pay for me not to drown!) 12/6/06 Everybody in the house from Wales say "Heyyyy!" 12/6/04 My spelling is 'indescribably' bad today. June 04 Training's gone into high gear. Can you believe you'll actually find me in the gym or training with assorted groups of indominatable 'hard cases' - all intent on putting me to shame!? Ha Ha. Bring it on! 4/7/04 Thanks to the mysterious and generous P.B. (Such a good Pal) Love to T.F.M.P. ;) 20/7/04 Where would I be without the letter 'V'? Thanks for the generous donation. 21/7/04 Thanks to Big G. Two legs, one wheel, a big heart! 25/7/04 1 week to go. The experts say 'cut back on training'. Ha HA. I'll take any excuse! 26/7/04 Uh oh! Just re-read it. Experts say 'cut back on training.... but increase the intensity!' Oh well! 31/7/04 The Big Day! Well worth every ounce of sweat. Definitely the first of many! 1/8/04 Still basking in that glow of achievement. Thank you to everyone who made this possible including... (Core Active Coaches Alan, Huw and Steve. Andrea C, KVC, JC, Nick and everyone at Survival, The Docklands and Greenwich Park runners, Ann B, VLLB, Christine & Team Outrageous swimming, The SE7 and NYC Kings, Martin & Andrea & The MSE crew, 'grande individuo el vivir pozo', the QE2 possee, Querido - soon to be famous, Bil & Yemi, Every donor no matter how large or small AND all those I've neglected to mention) Many thanks for all your wonderful support and kicks up the backside! x x x Lamin
