Tall Ships Youth Trust is the UK’s oldest and largest youth development sail training charity. With a focus on helping young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, our mission is to enable them to fulfil their life potential through experiences at sea and by breaking down the barriers they face.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

I am attempting to run the London Marathon this year in aid of The Sgt Carl Stephenson Memorial Fund.

Carl was my fiancée’s brother and a good friend of mine.  In his off duty time from his army posting Carl was training for his mountain leadership qualification and
was tragically killed by a lightening strike in April 2006  while out walking the Mourne Mountains of Northern Ireland.

His memorial fund is setup with the Tall Ships Youth Trust by Captain Bob (his father who worked for the Trust for over 20 years).  The fund raises money to sponsor young people from Withernsea, Carl's home town, Scouts and personnel of the Armed Forces to enjoy sail training adventures with the Trust's tall ships fleet.

If you are donating from overseas, please donate in GBP . You can check the rate of exchange by clicking onto www.xe.com/ucc/ thank you.
