Story

To celebrate that we have now been in business for 21 years, we again entered two teams in the annual Monmouth Raft Race organised by the Rotary Club of Monmouth in support of St David's Hospice Care.  The race again took place over a 6.5 mile course on the river Wye.  Last year we managed to raise over £1000.00 for charity and our target this year is to raise even more!

We all had a great time and both teams made it to the end without sinking - Just!  With the water level in the river lower this year, both rafts hit the rocks a few times damaging and dislodging the straps holding the barrels on with the extend of the damage only evident when barrels fell off as the rafts were lifted out of the water at the finish.

Our 'Landcraft Jolly Gardeners' team (Raft No. 156, grounds maintenance staff in bright green t-shirts) came in 15th overall out of 64 starters with a time of 1:57:10 which was a great improvement on their 36th place last year however it was our 'Spades N' Roses' team (Raft No. 157, hard and soft landscape staff in bright orange t-shirts) that were victorious on the day coming in 25 seconds ahead and securing 12th place overall.

Last year we raised over £1000.00 through this event and we are well on our way to hitting our target for this year of raising more than last year's total and so a big thank you to all who have sponsored us.
