Story
Our team leader, Tris, walked the Inca Trail two years ago. She had the most amazing experience and upon her return she discovered Project Peru and has been working with them ever since.
Through Tris, we have learned about Project Peru and the work they do for the children in the shanty towns of Lima. On the April 28th we are flying to Lima where we will live in the refuge with the children for one week. We will be fortunate enough to help out with the day to day running of the refuge as well as volunteering in the community. The projects we will be involved in are serving in the soup kitchen, helping at the daycare centre and even helping to build a new home for a local family (any advice in how to do plastering is most welcome)!
After our stay in Lima we will fly to Cusco. We will be going on a 3 day trek of the Lares Trail which is 35km long and will take us up to heights of 4600 metres above sea level!
Some of us are use to our creature comforts, so sleeping on the ground and not having proper facilities is going to be an even greater challenge (where do we plug in our hair straighteners?). So dig deep and please sponsor us. With your help we can send more children to school...£60 will send one child to school for a year!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Project Peru gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Please give generously!
