Women for Women International supports women who live in some of the world’s most dangerous places. Women enrol on the charity’s year-long training programme, where they learn how to earn and save money, improve their family’s health and make their voices heard at home and in their community.

Story

Hi everyone,

Yes your read correctly and no I am not going crazy, instead I was privleged enough to be invited by one of the formidable founders of Women On a Mission (WOAM) to trek across the Lut Desert in Iran this November.  How do you say no to that? So now with under two and a half months left to go I am fundraising for women survivors of war - WOAM IRAN TREK 2016.

Our team will be attempting the crossing of the Lut Desert of Iran in November 2016 and we hope to become the first all-female team in recorded history to do so. Marco Polo travelled through the Lut Desert on a camel - we are doing this on foot! Dasht e Lut is also the hottest recorded place on Earth, a Silk Road route and home to kaluts, salt plains, sand dunes and meteorites. I'll get some great pics to share.

As my friends, family and colleagues my ask is that you generously donate a few (or a lot of) dollars to an important charity Women for Women who do incredible and impactful work. I will be enormously appreciative and thankful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iarxgcit0gU

National Geographic have also written about the expedition I will be undertaking http://www.natgeotraveller.co.uk/destinations/middle-east/iran/iran-mission-impassable/

and for more information about WOAM https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/woamiran2016

Wish me luck and thank you! Advice also welcome!
