Story

WE'VE DONE IT!!

What a surreal and dreamlike experience it was walking through the streets of London during the night - so totally different from our early morning countryside rambles over Cranborne Chase and through carpets of bluebells in Ashmore Woods.  Although we had been warned, it was something that perhaps we had underestimated.  However, all your generosity and encouragement throughout certainly spurred us on and made us focus on why we were doing the walk in the first place.  To see so many - well, 15,000 people - the majority being women of all shapes and sizes all walking (wearing some totally amazing and often extraordinary bras and outfits) for friends and relatives who had suffered from breast cancer was, at times, very humbling.  The marshalls and supporters (especially the two representative husbands who appeared at various times along the route and produced the BEST breakfast afterwards) were so encouraging and really helped to gee us along!  Not to mention the texts and phone calls throughout the night - you certainly learn who your insomniac friends are!  A HUGE thank you to one and all for supporting us in this venture and for helping us to donate such an amazing sum of money (nearly £11,500 including gift aid) to this very worthy cause.
