Afraid I gave up on the iPhone!
Saturday was a struggle and I'll admit there were tears. Fortunately I had the sense to extract off the moor and come along the lanes - Dartmoor is like swimming with sharks - exciting and beautiful but don't take unnecessary risks and treat with respect! As I'd been so unlucky with the weather some of the planned bridlepaths had become bogs and I wasn't going to lose the last pair of shoes. Princetown was a very welcome sight (and the medicinal rums to relax the muscles were fab).
Woke up totally fired upu on Sunday and headed out into the mist at Princetown at 7am as I've done the route past Ingra Tor a fair few times and was confident I wouldn't get lost. Hound of the Baskerville's gave me a wide berth (think Bruce had 'had a word' in advance) and was at Meavy before I knew it.
The Plym valley trail was amazing although the blisters were really kicking in. Mum and Dad (who have been an excellent support team all weeked) met me in the Plymbridge car park and after a final sock change I ploughed on. Gave everyone a bit of a shock when they discovered I was at the Aquarium already but was hurting and just wanted to get it over with.
Huge thank you to everyone who came up to the Hoe to meet me - and everyone who sponsored me. Cannot express how grateful I am. Special thanks again to Mum and Dad for their wonderful support.

In memory of my beloved hound Bruce I will be walking 70 miles between Westward Ho and Plymouth Hoe via Dartmoor*** on the August Bank Holiday weekend to raise money to help other dogs like Bruce find their forever home.
The Retired Greyhound Trust works to find homes for greyhounds once their racing careers have finished.
Bruce was much loved by all who knew him and I feel this is a fitting way to honour his memory - whilst he'd never have managed the 70 miles himself, being built for speed and not endurance, the page is called last walk with Bruce as being ex 'mad woman with dog' I'll be carrying his ashes with me.
***route change to reverse direction thanks to someone with far more common sense than me!
