Starlight is the UK’s leading charity for children’s play in hospitals and hospices. We work to ensure every child can experience the power of play, supporting their mental and physical health during treatment and recovery from illness.

Story

The LateRooms.com Runners will be running in aid of Starlight, a UK based charity dedicated to brightening the lives of seriously and terminally ill children. Specifically, we’ll be running for Demi-Lee, whose dream is to travel to Disneyland, Florida to meet Mickey Mouse.

Demi-Lee is 7 years old and is severely poorly with epilepsy. Having already undergone a Gastrostomy (the insertion of an external feeding tube) to help manager her condition, she’ll face many more hospital stays and will undoubtedly need a high level of supportive care throughout her life. We’d love to raise enough money to send Demi-Lee on her trip of a lifetime, and give her and her family some amazing memories to cherish forever, whatever the future may hold.

Please help make Demi-Lee’s dream come true to go on this trip by sponsoring us today ... and don’t worry, donations can be anonymous, so just spare as much as much as you can.

The LateRooms.com Great North Run team consists of 5 runners, who’ve all been training hard in order to tackle the gruelling world famous 13.1 mile course, so your support is much appreciated.
