Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. All monies raised will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust to be used specifically to fund a Specialist in Donor Management (based at Harefield Hospital). If we can fund this position then it will ensure that more life-saving transplants are carried out over the coming year.
Laughter for Life! (www.laughterforlife.co.uk) was a star-studded charity comedy night held on 4th March 2007 at the Mermaid Conference and Events Centre in London. .
Bill Bailey, Dara O Briain, Ian Stone, Rob Rouse, Glenn Wool and Geoff Whiting generously gave their time and commitment to Laughter for Life! free of charge and we would like to thank them from the bottom of our hearts for making it such a huge success and so much fun.
Laughter for Life! has been organised by the Live Life Then Give Life Campaign (www.livelifethengivelife.co.uk) which has been set up by myself, Emily Thackray and Oli Lewington. Between us we have lost 17 young friends who died whilst waiting for double lung transplants. Sadly the chronic shortage of UK organ donors means that 50% of those on the waiting list will die. Emily has just received her transplant after 2 years and Oli is still waiting after 18 months.
We need to raise £60,000 in total in order to fund the Donor Coordinator so please dig deep and help us make that target! If you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
