Students from under-resourced backgrounds are three times less likely to make it to a top university than peers from more advantaged backgrounds. We support these students to access top universities through bespoke mentoring, skills-building coaching, tuition, and enrichment activities.

Story

The Access Project is an excellent charity that I've been involved with for a year as a tutor.

The aim is to provide one-on-one tutoring to students, starting in year 10 and going all the way through to A level, for students at schools in London who might not otherwise apply for university.

The project has been incredibly successful so far - the first school involved saw 10 students from one year go to Russell Group universities, where previously they had seen only 1 a year at most.

An excellent article which explains a bit more in detail:

Take a look at the charity's website, which contains a lot of success stories:

This is my first marathon and it would be a big boost to know that my efforts will be rewarded with funds for this brilliant charity.
