Story
This summer, I have set myself the challenge of circumnavigating Wales on foot. I will be starting in Chester, and attempting to cover all 1,047 miles of the Wales Coast Path and Offa's Dyke Path to finish in Prestatyn.
Although a personal challenge, I am hoping to raise as much money as possible for Alzheimer's Society along my way. Alzheimer's Society is a charity close to my heart. They provided advice and support for my family, and helped to ensure my grandmother had the care she needed before she sadly passed away from dementia in 2011.
Over this last year I have been on placement with Cardiff Memory Team, where I have seen the excellent work Alzheimer's Society is still doing for other families like mine, and the massive appreciation from those who receive their help.
Living with dementia can be difficult, but Alzheimer's Society strives to make it a little bit easier. A small amount can go a long way. I believe the work they do is worth every penny.
These are a few words from the Alzheimer's Society:
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
