When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community.

Story

As many of you will know, my lovely mum, Michelle Burridge, suffered a stroke at the age of 44 in August 2012 which has severely affected her speech.

As a result of this and the amazing treatment she has received, I wanted to give something back and have decided to run 10k to raise as much money as I possibly can for the Stroke Association who help people like my mum.

For anyone who knows me, they know this is going to be on marathon proportions as I haven't run since PE GCSE!

Anything you can possibly give will be so greatly recieved by myself and the charity, I want to raise as much as I can to make my mum proud after all shes been through so the target is a bit ambitious but hopefully reachable with your help!

Thankyou :) X
