Great Midlands Fun Run 2011 · 5 June 2011 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As you all know Poppy Elise was born on February 10th 2010, a little munchkin at 8lb 10.5oz. Unfortunately we later learned that our little angel had a tumor in her throat which was preventing her from breathing. Poppy was soon moved to Birmingham Childrens Hospital.
It was a traumatic few weeks for us all, especially little Poppy who through her procedures and time in intensive care remained a little fighter!
It was the wonderful Dr Pearman who operated on Poppy and he successfully removed a 4cm tumor which was connected to her adanoids, tonsils and down her throat. In his 30 years at the hospital, this was only the 2nd similar case he'd seen.
Poppy is now at home where she belongs and is thriving well but unfortunately Poppy's tumour has grown back and she will need to have more operations to keep removing it. Poppy is a very brave baby girl who has just celebrated her first birthday!
We would like to thank the hospital and fantastic staff for all their expertise, care and support. Therefore we are running the Great Midlands Fun Run in aid of the hospitals charity. It's an 8.5 mile run at Sutton Coldfield on Sunday June 5th.
So please dig deep and donate now!
Many thanks,
Team Poppy x
