Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

As some of you may know, in January this year my wonderful cousin Mark died.

Mark was adopted by my aunty and uncle when he was 6 years old, and when he was about 12 years old was diagnosed with muscular distrophy, and spent much of his 34 years in a wheel chair. But this NEVER stopped Mark doing anything. Thanks to his incredible energy, sense of humour and wonderful parents, Mark never missed out on anything. He was always going off for weekends in Europe, days out with his friends (particluarly his weekly Tuesday shopping trip to HMV in Croydon) and had a great love for music and art. . . and scantliy-clad ladies!!

But Mark's great passion was for justice and the right for human life, which is why he felt so strongly about the developing countries, and was such a great supporter of CAFOD.

This charity raises money for the poorest people and works to make things fairer for people who's lives have been full of injustice - just because of where they were born. This charity fights for the people who are suffering because of the greed of richer countries, diseases, lack of fresh water and things we take for grante every day.

On Friday 28th August I will be doing something VERY un-Laura like! I will be sporting a pair of shiny white trainers (I promise they will be shiny, as I can't remember the last time I wore a pair!), and along with about 15 of my cousins, will be climbing Mount Snowdon in Wales, in memory of Mark, and as a tribute to him, raising money to help people who are too hungry, too sick, and too weak to help themselves.

Please give as generously as you can, and I promise to take photos to show proof that I actually did this (for those of you who cannot believe I can do it!!). Just to give you an idea of what your money can do to help, £100 is enough to train a midwife in Bangladesh and help reduce infant and maternal mortality.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Catholic Agency For Overseas Development gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thank you for your support
