Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 2nd May 2016 I will be doing a skydive at Sibson with 3 friends from work at Pkai hair in Hampton Peterborough.
I have chosen to do a skydive because i wanted to do something that would challenge me and something that I would fear, here is why...
A couple of people close to me have died of cancer in the last year. Ingrid wills, Barbara Burgess and John Raper. Both of my Nans have also suffered from cancer and luckily they survived and are still with us so they will be able to watch me skydive. As it happens my closest friends have been affected by people they know having or dying from cancer recently. I have chosen to raise money for Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall hospice because I wanted to sponsor a local charity and help them as much as possible.
The focus at Sue Ryder, Thorpe Hall Hospice in Peterborough is on quality of life - giving every patient the palliative care and support they need so they can spend their time as they choose. They care for people aged 16 and over who are living with conditions like cancer, heart failure and lung disease. The team of specialist staff work together so they can be sure patients receive all the care and support they need – physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally. They look after their families and close friends as well, for as long as they can be helpful to them Thorpe Hall also runs day services open to people living with long-term conditions who attend on a regular basis. They join in activities and outings helping to boost confidence and giving them the opportunity to meet and socialise with others. The team also supports Synergy Cafés, for those living with dementia and their carers, held weekly at Thorpe Hall and at the Sue Ryder Café in Stanground, Peterborough.
