Story

SAHARA DESERT TREK 9th-16th May 2009

IN MEMORY OF ALAN BRITTON

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

I have decided to take part in this challenge to raise funds for Diabetes UK, in memory of a very special man - my husband Alan Britton.

I will be accompanied by my brave and stupid friend Janet Woodcock!  She was the first to volunteer - I hope she isnt regretting it.  We will spend 6 days in the desert, walking through some spectacular scenery, and sleeping in what will be at the end up probably be a very smelly tent.

Alan as most of you will know suffered from this disease for many years, and eventually lost his battle with the many complications of this illness on the 10th of August 2008.

Diabetes UK is the charity for people with diabetes, their family, friends and carers. Their mission is to improve the lives of people with the condition and work towards a future without diabetes.

By supporting this charity we hope in some small way to help others avoid going through what Alan suffered.

On behalf of Janet and myself I thank you for your support.
