Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Project Peru gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

The money will go directly to Project Peru to fund materials to build a building for a community kitchen and nursery, in a nearby shanty town, of which we will be helping to build.

 The community kitchen, provides a main daily meal, and often the only meal, to adults and children from the area thus enabling an effective programme of nutritional food to be accessible. As a result there will be additional opportunities to promote healthy diets; to give the opportunity not just to ‘feed mouths’ for people living in extreme poverty but to develop programmes for nutrition, health and hygiene in food preparation and in the community.

The fundraising money will not cover the cost of my trip to Peru, I will be paying for this myself.

Whilst in Peru, I will be staying in a children's refuge assisting staff looking after the children and helping to facilitate activities around their schooling. Whilst the children are at school we will be assisting manually in the building of the soup kitchen/nursey.

To help raise the money I'll be completing the Mont Blanc Marathon which entails running 42km around Mont Blanc with a 2000m ascent, and 1500m descent whilst dealing with the effects of heat and altitude.

Both the marathon and my time in Peru are going to be extremely hard work, both physically and mentally, but very very rewarding and I am looking forward to the challenge!
