In March 2007 I will be taking part in Global Xchange, a six-month exchange programme which gives young people from different countries a unique opportunity to work together, to develop and share skills and to make a practical contribution where it is needed in local communities. I will be taking part in an exchange between Southampton, England and Davao, The Philippines, working on volunteer placements on the theme of peace and development in both communities.

Global Xchange is run by a partnership of organisations, including the international development charity Voluntary Service Overseas. I am attempting to fundraise £600 to support the valuable work of VSO, and as part of these efforts, I have entered into the Great Winter Run in Edinburgh on 13th January. Any and all sponsorship donations will be greatly appreciated and will contribute towards a fantastic charity.
