Matt's Dad, Nick, was diagnosed with MDS in 2015. MDS is a group of malignant blood disorders in which the bone marrow fails to produce healthy blood cells. It is a form of bone marrow cancer and treatments range from medication such as EPO to blood transfusions. In the long term, a stem cell transplant (bone marrow transplant) can offer the chance of curing the disease.

The MDS UK Patient Support Group aim to raise awareness of MDS, offer support and information to patient and families and campaign to increase the quality of life and make treatments available to those affected by MDS.
