Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!!

I have set up this page to collect sponsorship for two events that I am taking part in this year to raise money for Brain Tumour UK in memory of my sister Chloe.

As most of you probably know, Chloe passed away on 22nd December last year. She was first diagnosed with a brain tumour in August 2009, following almost two years of being unwell, and had an operation to remove the tumour in September 2009. Although the operation was successful, it left Chloe with other complications - with her eyesight and hydrocephalus (fluid on the brain). She subsequently had several further operations, with the hydrocepahalus being the eventual cause of her death.

Chloe never really let her situation get her down and tried her best to remain happy and upbeat throughout. She was always thinking of others and before she died she had set up a donation to Brain Tumour UK and this is why it is the charity I have chosen to support. Chloe would have wanted us to help to make a difference to other people in the same situation.

So..... onto the events!! On 22nd April this year I have signed up for a tandem skydive from 10,000ft - due the the fact I dislike both planes and heights this will be quite a challenge!!

Following that I will be completing a half marathon on 24th May. The run is the final leg of RelayGB - which is a world record attempt at the longest continous marathon run and will encompass the whole of the UK. Amy Barnes will be running with me so that we cover the marathon distance as a team. Our leg will finish at Buckingham Palace at approximately 12.30pm. Although I have run the 10k race for Life in previous years I have never attempted such a distance as this before and the training has already begun!!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now - let's make Chloe proud!!
