It was only just over 3 months ago, that I was retiring from 'serious' running, having completed the Great North Run, yet now I find myself creating this page and asking you to sponsor me for the marathon!  I'm not sure how that happened but what I am sure of is that I am running for a very worthy cause.   My late father was a veterinary surgeon, so my passion for the care and welfare of animals started at a very young age.  I have also been lucky enough that when one of my dogs needed specialist care she was treated by the experts at the AHT, so I have first hand exprience of the wonderful work they do.  Animals play an important role in many peoples lives.
