Story
Dear friend
On Sunday 17th April 2005 I will be taking part in the London Marathon. I will try to run the whole 26.2 miles but as you may have seen from my blog (http://londonmarathon.web-log.nl) not everything went according to plan. So far it has been a long, hard struggle and it is save to say that I completely underestimated the time involved. BUT I shall and will finish it, even if it means crawling backwards.
My other goal is to raise money for Barnardo's, a charity that works to give disadvantaged children and families the help they need to build a better future.
This is where I need your help. I shall do the running, if you can do the donating. In all fairness, I think I've got the rougher part....
Your money can do so much!
£5 As little as this provides books for 3-5 year olds. £5 Buys clothing gift voucher for a child from a deprived area. £20 Pays for a trip to the cinema for a young carer desperately needing a break. £25 Provides special toys and books for a family with a severely disabled child. £30 Buys a young homeless person food for a week. £40 Pays for a child to receive bereavement counselling. £60 Runs a multi sensory room for an hour for a child with special needs. £100 Will buy toys for children with special needs. £100 Takes 10 children from a deprived area on a trip to the zoo. £200 Pays for 10 young carers to have a much needed day trip out. £250 Covers the weekly cost of running five community youth clubs for children living in deprived areas. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Barnardo's will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. (Psst, if you don't want others to know how generous you have been: you can also donate anonymously. Only I will know....) Please support me and Barnardo's. Many thanks for your support Heel erg bedankt Laura
