Story
Hi guys,
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
This will be a bit of a miracle marathon for me, given my late entry to the event in a couple of weeks time! I've decided to trial a new concept in marathon training...instead of tapering my training distances down for the last couple of weeks, I've been "tapering" for the last few months and am hoping to get myself marathon fit in the next couple of weeks...we'll see whether the strategy works??!!
I'm raising money for a charity called Hope Worldwide, and specifically two projects it supports. The first is a hospital in Cambodia's capital which I had the priviledge of visiting on my travels. They provide a high standard of free healthcare in a country where the health services are on the whole very poor. The second project is a school in Bhuj (India) providing education for kids affected by the 2001 earthquake in the area.
Seeing the extremes of poverty in different parts of the world as I've travelled really makes me appreciate what I have, and motivates me to make a difference...
In my opinion these are both very worthwhile causes, hence the reason I've set my fundraising target high!
Remember....never underestimate the difference YOU can make!!
So please give generously and sponsor me now!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: HOPE worldwide gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Also please feel free to come along and support on the day of the marathon, its on Sunday 31st May.
Thank you!!
