My story

 

Update: I completed the run in 1 hour 11 mins and 35 seconds and raised a total of £1,220 including my company's matching donation.   Thanks again for all your very kind donations and  wonderful support. 

 

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

I've decided to run the Southend 10k Classic to raise money for a wonderful local charity -  Fairhavens Hospice (please read left hand side - "About our Charity"). 

You may know that earlier this year,  I  also set myself a target of losing 3 stone  in time for my 40th birthday in November.   This may have been over optimisitic - current total (Aug 09) is 17 llbs, however I am on target for 2 stone instead.   After an absence from running of  2 years, and only ever having run 5k -  both goals are quite a challenge for me.    I'm determined to put in a good amount of training - and finish in a respectable time. 

If you feel able to assist me raise funds for this charity, and spur me on to reach my personal goals  - it would be fantastic if you can help no matter how small the donation.  My company may match the sponsorship raised.  If you are unable to, thank you for taking the time to visit my page.
