~Every Little Bit Helps~
I have just been appointed a Volunteer Project Manager position with Raleigh International for a June 2008 13 week expedition in Costa Rica and Nicaragua.
As a Project Manager I will be working, guiding and assisting a group of young adults, ages 17-24 from a variety of different backgrounds, in completing an assigned task. These projects may include Conservation Work in Costa Rica and a Community Project in Nicaragua; previous projects completed included, building of schools, community buildings, education centres, sport events, building damns and water systems for fresh water. Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the western hemisphere; Nicaragua lacks community resources such as school, community centers and accommodation.
Along with the projects there will be a challenging Adventure project that we, the group and myself/co-worker will need to accomplish an outing such as…trekking up mountains, rainforests jungles and maybe even volcanoes. I couldn’t ask for a better way to spend my summer-wet, dirty and with limited showers and toilets, having the time of my life while making an impact on others lives.
So, I have created this page, to keep everyone up-to-date on my plans and experiences. I am also wishing to use this as a way of asking for sponsorship as well.
Remember if you sponsor-it’s not me you are assisting- it will be going towards a good cause helping young people families and communities around the world.
Donate through this site and Gift Aid will be put in place...For example if £10 were donated then with Gift Aid it would £11.40 or if £100 were donated then with the Gift Aid it would be £114.
Thanks for your support and I will keep you all up-to-date,
So please sponsor!
